Schonburger is a rare grape variety which was developed in Germany in the mid 1970's and brought into Tasmania in the mid 1980's. The most significant plantings are in the South of England where it's excellent disease resistance is a huge asset.
Stylistically the variety can most be most closely compared to a Gwertztraminer.
